B4RDS is for all who want fast broadband in rural areas of Devon & Somerset. The current Connecting Devon & Somerset project, run by 6 County
and Unitary Councils leaves large areas of the two counties without any improvement in broadband speed, despite £53M of public money currently being invested in it to date. Having dumped an open
tender process November 2014 CDS decided to hand another £45.5M exclusively to BT for a 95% (min) Phase 2 contract. CDS failed to secure this contract on June 26th, 2015 and so Devon & Somerset
are the only two counties in the UK not to have a Phase 2 contract in place. Taxpayers in rural Devon & Somerset may now have to wait until 2021/22 for broadband speeds to improve, thanks to the
incompetence of the CDS Board.
